Prompt 3

What characteristics do you value most in a friend? Explain why they are important.

Self-respect, the ability to listen, honesty and sincerity are big characteristics that I value most in a friend.  Someone who isn’t afraid to disagree with me and who isn’t afraid and can speak their mind. A friend with a wild imagination and a huge heart with compassion for other people; respect for others and me. Who isn’t afraid to express their opinions. Who would listen to my problems without judging, and who would always listen to all stories before coming to a conclusion. Someone who is patient and has a lot of it, but also that we have common interests, goals, and morals.

Prompt 2

What does the following quote mean to you?  "You don’t get to pick where you’re from, but you always have control of where you’re going."

You don’t get to pick your parents; you don’t get to choose how they love you or pick where or how you live. But you do have the power to make something of yourself. To me this quote means that you could come from nothing and one day be the head of a corporation or president of the United States. To me everyone has the same equal opportunities but not everyone takes them. I really like this quote and to me holds a lot of meaning. Just because something has happened to you doesn’t mean you have to dwell over it, you can overcome all the adversity  or stereo types and be what or who you want to be.

Prompt 1

If a handful of people can change the world for the worse, then I am certain that a handful of people can change the world for the better.
What will you do do to make this world of ours, which feels so broken right now, a better place?

We all live in our own world; I don't believe we share it with others but they do meet up with each other and are interconnected like a spider web. My world is tethered to me, but branches off and attaches to other worlds. So to answer the question, "What will you do to make this world of ours, which feels so broken right now, a better place?" I can’t, the only thing that I could make better is myself, because the things I do, have affect  however little or large on other worlds; just like the actions of others affects mine. We have to start at the source of the problem, us as one person.
